Peer Support Specialist - Bridgeways

Under the supervision of the Bridgeways Program Manager, the Peer Support Specialist will work to engage youth who are juvenile justice involved or at-risk of juvenile justice involvement, and who have behavioral health needs which qualify them for Full Service Partnership services in the Bridgeways program. The Peer Support Specialist should have lived experience that will uniquely qualify them to engage and connect with our clientele, assisting them in their recovery with substance use disorders or improving their behavioral health

Specific Activities
  • Conducts eligibility screenings and intakes for identified youth
  • Conducts quarterly outreach to school districts, organizations that serve at-risk youth, law enforcement, and other referral sources 
  • Collaborates with Bridgeway Clinicians, SUD Counselors, PCPs, Mental Health Registered Nurse, and other individuals in the client’s care team to develop a comprehensive, holistic case management plan and goals
  • Co-facilitates evidence-based treatment groups with Bridgeway Clinicians
  • Maintains a minimum 30% productivity level
  • Completes other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Lived experience and/or education from related field, with behavioral health, juvenile justice, and substance abuse disorders between the ages of 12-21 preferred.
  • Experience of community-based social service or case management experience is a plus.
  • Must possess the ability to make sound decisions independently.
Additional Requirement
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with a good driving record.
  • Willing to use own, properly insured, reliable vehicle for the job (mileage reimbursed).
  • Employment subject to clearances, including background finger printing checks, driving record, tuberculosis testing, and drug testing.

$18-$19.60 Salary will commensurate with experience and education. Differential pay offered for bilingual skills. EEO
