Dr. Patricia Prado-Olmos
PresidentChief Community Engagement Officer, CSUSMDr. Patricia Prado-Olmos was drawn to Lifeline’s values and goals and when the timing was right, she joined the Board of Directors in 2017. She had previous contact with Lifeline through community collaborations, and now Lifeline benefits from her passion as she is the current Board Secretary and sits on the Executive and Finance Committees where her professionalism, insight, and knowledge benefit the organization greatly. The aspirational vision the agency holds throughout its culture resonates solidly with Patricia and she is both proud and honored to be part of this vision.
Patricia has devoted her career to higher education and she holds a BA in Psychology from Pomona College and a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from UC Santa Barbara. Her content area is multicultural/multilingual education where she has taught various courses at all levels of higher education. She truly enjoys teaching, connecting and supporting students, and even though she does not officially teach in the classroom anymore, she stays in contact with doctoral level students. Patricia truly enjoys her work at CSUSM where she has been for nearly 23 years including high-level administration positions since 2008.
In addition to all of her professional and volunteer endeavors, she strives to prioritize time for self-care and family. She has practiced yoga for over 10 years and this daily mediation is very important to her. She is also an avid reader of science fiction/fantasy and when she can’t have a book in her hand she listens on her commute. Family is also a central part of her life focus as she now has the privilege and opportunity to care for her parents in her home while her 28 year old daughter is recently married and her 24 year old son is finishing his degree at CSUSM (of course). She enjoys all aspects of her life and we are grateful for all she gives to North County Lifeline.
